There are two qualifications for those who work in Democratic Services. There is a Certificate in Democratic Practice which is part knowledge based and part practice based. For the knowledge aspects there will be written assignments and professional discussion. For the practice modules there will be methods of assessment such as work products, observations and reflective statements. Follow the link below for further information.

There is also a Diploma in Local Democracy which is aimed at those in senior positions in the Democratic Sector. This has 3 stages, a Foundation stage with 4 assignments and a professional discussion, a pathway stage with a dissertation based on one of 7 pathways and a reflective stage.
